The SNP have abandoned Scotland’s oil and gas industry. Nicola Sturgeon has brought the extremist Greens into government, threatening the future of the North Sea sector and risking the 100,000 Scottish jobs supported by the industry.

The oil and gas industry is an important part of Scotland’s economy with tens of thousands of jobs relying on it. We believe that protecting those jobs should be a key priority as we deliver net zero. We support working with the UK Government to deliver the North Sea Transition Deal through which they are investing £16 billion to cut emissions and secure 40,000 jobs.

The way to solve the climate crisis is not by importing gas from other countries while losing Scottish jobs. We must protect our energy supply as we transition to net zero, otherwise jobs will be put at risk, our energy supply will be put at risk, and consumers may face higher energy bills.
