Scotland's place in the UK

The Scottish Conservatives believe that Scotland is more prosperous and secure as part of the United Kingdom. We are the strongest voice in Scotland for the continuation of the Union between Scotland, England, Wales and Northern and Ireland.

As part of the UK, we have a stronger economy and better funded public services through the UK. Over 500,000 jobs depend on Scotland remaining part of the UK. Each year, the Union is worth an extra £2,210 for every single person in Scotland.

We are better protected and have more influence in the world as part of the United Kingdom. The British Armed Forces are among the best in the world. The United Kingdom is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and a founding member of NATO.

We are proudly Scottish and British. As part of the UK, we work together with our family and friends. Many Scots work in England, Wales and Northern Ireland or have family and friends who live in other parts of our country.

We pull together in times of crisis. The UK furlough scheme protected a million Scottish jobs through the Covid crisis, and the UK vaccine scheme is world leading. During the pandemic, the UK delivered an extra £14.5 billion in pandemic funding for Scottish public services.

The Scottish Conservatives will always stand up for the future of the UK. Two million Scots voted to keep our country united in 2014. We represent every pro-UK voter against the SNP and those parties who push to separate our country.
