The Scottish Conservatives will always prioritise tackling prejudice and discrimination. It’s essential that no one is held back from succeeding due to their race, sexuality, gender, religion or disability.
Blocking discrimination is central to our politics. We would work with the UK Government to end conversion therapy in Scotland and ensure frontline responders are trained to support victims of hate crime.
We are committed to tackling inequality among Scotland’s ethnic minorities. We would work with community representatives to devise a targeted approach to fighting poverty and poor health outcomes. This would build on the work of the Expert Reference Group on Covid-19 and Ethnicity.
Sectarian abuse is still too prevalent in Scotland. We would ensure that police have the powers to step in and deal with these incidents in a proportionate manner.
