A fair share for the North East

We will fight for a fair share for the North East - because they’re not getting it from the SNP.

The North East used to be the driving engine of the Scottish economy. However, in recent years, the oil and gas industry has faced a downturn, while the SNP keep focusing on the central belt and forgetting the North East.

The North East does not get a fair share from the SNP. Taxes have been hiked on Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire businesses, yet key public services like schools, GPs and the police have faced cuts and closures.

The North East economy needs the support of a pro-jobs, pro-business party. We would set up a specific North East enterprise agency to create jobs, and deliver a North East freeport to maximise opportunities.

Upgrading the infrastructure of the North East. We would upgrade key infrastructure such as the A90 and A96, review the reopening of local rail, such as the Formartine and Buchan Railway, and begin a full fibre broadband rollout in the rural North of Scotland.

The SNP-Green deal will hurt the North East the most. The SNP-Green coalition of chaos is bad news for the North East. Nicola Sturgeon has turned her back on the oil and gas industry and the 100,000 jobs it supports, while the Scottish Conservatives will work with the UK Government to deliver the £16 billion North Sea Transition Deal.
