At a visit to an oil rig in Aberdeen, Russell Findlay and Kemi Badenoch called for maximum extraction of the North Sea and an end to the “catastrophic” windfall tax.
The duo said that Labour and the SNP’s “ideological war” against the oil and gas sector had cost thousands of jobs and put our energy security at “grave risk”.
Findlay and Badenoch said that as the conflict in the Middle East drives up oil prices, it’s more important than ever to “get Britain drilling”.
The Scottish Conservative leader warned that if the SNP win the election, they will continue to “decimate” the oil and gas sector, leaving us reliant on costly foreign imports.
Findlay said that Scots have a “secret weapon” to stop an SNP majority, urging voters to back the Scottish Conservatives on their peach ballot.
He added that the Scottish Conservatives are the only party that can be trusted to back the oil and gas sector and the thousands of jobs that rely on it.
