CAMPAIGN: Save Scotland’s Pubs
Hospitality and the pub trade in Scotland were hit badly during COVID, with closures forcing many local pubs and restaurants to go months without income.
But instead of supporting our pubs in the aftermath of COVID, the SNP chose to hammer them with higher taxes.
Over the last few years, the SNP Government have refused to pass on the rate relief provided by the Conservative UK Government – despite being given the money to do so.
Now, pubs are shutting in Scotland at a higher rate than anywhere else in Britain.
Rising energy costs and the recent UK Labour national insurance increase have only added to the pressures local pubs and restaurants are facing.
Pubs are the lifeblood of local communities. But without urgent help, hundreds more will be forced to shut their doors forever – and your local could be next.
