Bring back winter fuel payments now
In the Scottish Budget, the SNP had the opportunity to change course and undo some of the damage they have done to our country.
We encouraged them to reward aspiration by giving hard-working Scots a break after years of damaging and painful SNP tax rises.
Instead, the SNP’s budget will increase bills. John Swinney has left Scotland as the highest-taxed part of the United Kingdom.
But that’s not all he did.

The SNP will spend millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money on this unnecessary freebie, but they won’t give every Scottish pensioner a full winter fuel payment.
This ridiculous decision will leave many elderly people who have worked hard all their days forced to choose between heating and eating.
We put this to a vote at Holyrood – but Labour, the Greens and Lib Dems all backed the SNP.
This is exactly the sort of thing that leaves people feeling the Scottish Parliament doesn’t understand their concerns.
We are clear – Scottish pensioners come first. We’re opposed to free bus travel for asylum seekers when elderly people are losing their winter fuel payment.
