18 years of SNP failure

The SNP have been failing Scotland for 18 years.

We need to get them out.

1.     Drug deaths remain the highest in Europe.

2.     Failed to close the attainment gap.

3.    Failed to pass on business rates relief in full.

4.     Most Scottish workers pay more in income tax than they would if they lived elsewhere in the UK.

5.     Wasted at least £230K trying to enact their reckless gender reform bill.

6.     They housed a male rapist in a women’s prison.

7.     One in six Scots stuck on an NHS wait list.

8.    Failed to meet 50,000 affordable homes target by 2021.

9.     Neil Gray used taxpayer funded limos to watch football games.

10.  Over 900 fewer police officers today than there were before the pandemic.

11.  The SNP Government went to court in an attempt to conceal evidence about the ministerial code investigation into Nicola Sturgeon – and lost.

12.  Nicola Sturgeon’s husband Peter Murrell has been charged with embezzlement in connection with an investigation into the SNP’s finances.

13.  The twenty SNP MSPs stepping down in 2026, including Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf, will receive over £1.4 million, collectively, in public money as ‘golden goodbyes’.

14.  Pupil-teacher ratio is still higher than when the SNP came to power.

15.  Allowed prisoners to vote for the first time ever.

16.  Thousands of children are persistently absent from school.

17.  Weapon use in schools has significantly increased.

18.  Used taxpayer money to fight a court case arguing men could get pregnant.

19.  Early learning and childcare teacher numbers have more than halved.

20.  Spending over £1.5 million a year in chauffeur services for their government ministers.

21.  Took forward their controversial school sex survey against the wishes of councils and parents and gave data to external researchers, without the consent of children or their parents.

22.  Failed to deliver on their promise of limiting class sizes for the first three years of primary school to 18 pupils.

23.  Broke their promise to achieve 30,000 modern apprenticeship starts per year by 2020.

24.  Scrapped their promise to deliver universal free school meals to all primary school pupils.

25.  Not met their target of 95% of A&E patients being seen within four hours since July 2020.

26.  More than 200 school staff are being physically assaulted or verbally abused every day.

27.  Brought the extremist Greens into government.

28.  Forced to scrap the SQA due to exam failures.

29.  1,140 hours of free childcare pledge was implemented a year late.

30.  Forced to abandon their failed named person scheme.

31. There are 1,688 fewer teachers.

32.  Missed targets for lifesaving cancer treatment.

33.  Scottish university students receive over £2,000 less public funding per head than English students.

34.  Almost a third of closed schools and a majority of mothballed schools are in rural areas.

35.  Continued to oppose new nuclear reactors in Scotland.

36.  Put in place a presumption against new exploration for oil and gas.

37.  Delayed the DRS scheme multiple times.

38.  Being sued by Biffa over their handling of the DRS scheme.

39.  The amount of waste incinerated in Scotland has almost quadrupled since 2011.

40.  Failed to achieve its key climate target 9 years out of 13.

41.  Still haven’t met their renewable heat target.

42.  Forced to admit their Heat in Buildings Bill would fail to tackle fuel poverty.

43.  Many schools are forcing pupils to share toilet facilities with the opposite sex.

44.  Diagnoses of early-stage cancer in Scotland fell to their lowest level in a decade.

45.  The maintenance backlog in NHS Scotland has swelled to more than £1.3 billion.

46.  The Scottish Ambulance Service is failing to meet the average target response time in every category.

47.  Failed to protect elderly residents in care homes during the pandemic.

48.  Abandoned its National Care Service plan after spending £30 million.

53.  Nearly 2,000 beds are blocked by patients who could be released from hospital but haven’t been.

54.  Obsessed about independence throughout their entire time in government, even after losing a referendum in 2014.

55.  Crime has increased since 2020 with violent crime, sexual crime, domestic abuse and shoplifting all skyrocketing.

56.  Released hundreds of dangerous prisoners early and 1 in 10 were back behind bars within weeks.

57.  Only told 2% of victims that their offenders were being released from prison early.

58.  PISA rankings for Maths and Science are at record lows.

59.  Thanks to their effective ban on prison sentences of 12 months or less, more than 3,500 criminals are no longer going to jail.

60.  Rape victims are waiting seven months for a transcript of their rape trial under an SNP pilot scheme.

61.  The SNP appointed Lord Advocate admitted the Crown Office maliciously prosecuted individuals involved in the Rangers takeover – costing taxpayers at least £52 million.

62.  Spent £6 million giving prisoners free mobile phones which were used to conduct drug deals and arrange hit jobs,

63.  Organised criminals have failed to pay back over £1.5 million in just four years that they’ve been ordered to pay.

64.  Their hated Football Act criminalised football fans and threatened free speech but was repealed thanks to the Scottish Conservatives.

65.  Over 500 sex offenders have changed their name in the past two years thanks to their failure to change the law.

66.  Tried to impose juryless rape trials which were opposed by rape survivors and legal experts.

67.  Construction of HMP Glasgow is ten times overbudget, six years late and will cost £1 billion.

68.  Court delays have doubled since 2020 with victims waiting three years for justice.

69.  Their soft-touch sentencing guidelines for under 25’s has been exploited by gangs and let criminals off the hook.

70.  Brought forward legislation that would allow 16-year-olds to change their gender without a medical diagnosis or parental permission.

71.  Have presided over 21,965 drug and alcohol deaths since 2014.

72. Their ferry scandal has lasted over a decade and cost millions.

73.  Spending £1.3 billion over their budget on benefits in 2025.

74.  Failing to protect Scotland’s biodiversity, with nearly half of species in decline.

75.  Forced to scrap their destructive Highly Protected Marine Area plans.

76.  Removed more than £60 million from the agricultural budget and still have not returned most of it.

77.  Delayed superfast broadband rollout seven years to 2028, and only about half complete.

78.  Broken their promise to end council tax.

79.  In their 2025-26 budget, the SNP Government severely cut the budget of Scotland’s enterprise agencies.

80.  Scotland’s economic growth has lagged behind the rest of the UK’s for the last decade – costing our economy £11 billion.

81.  The Scottish Budget is missing out on over £800 million of revenue because of the SNP’s failure to grow the economy.

82.  Set to waste billions of pounds of taxpayers’ money over the course of this parliament.

83.  Nicola Sturgeon and John Swinney admitted before the Covid-19 inquiry that they and top officials deleted all their pandemic-era WhatsApp messages.

84.  Future vessels for the Small Vessel Replacement Programme are to be built in Poland instead of Scotland.

85.  Michael Matheson claimed £11K of taxpayer money to cover a roaming charge bill whilst on holiday in Morocco and then lied about the reasons for it.

86.  John Swinney then refused to punish Michael Matheson despite Holyrood’s standards committee finding him guilty.

87.  Benefits bill is set to be over £2 billion in deficit by 2030.

88.  Spent over £200 million since 2016 on external IT consultants to support the delivery of their flawed agricultural payments system.

89.  The delivery date for CalMac’s Turkish-built ferries has been pushed back further.

90.  Fewer operating ScotRail trains since nationalisation.

91.  ScotRail has paid out almost £2.5 million in compensation.

92.  Assaults on bus drivers have skyrocketed since they gave free bus travel to under-22s.

93.  Failed to make a commitment to upgrade our vital rural roads, such as the A77, the A9, and the A96.

94.  They are consulting on reducing speed limits to 50mph on single-carriageway roads.

95.  Inquiry into the Edinburgh Trams lasted nine years and cost £13 million.

96.  Hiked ScotRail ticket prices since nationalisation.

97.  They introduced Humza’s Hate Crime Bill

98.  Spends more on benefits than it does on the Education and Justice budgets combined.

99.  Replicated Labour’s decision to take pensioners’ winter fuel payments away in the winter of 2024.

100. Rent controls have seen rents rise in Scotland faster than anywhere else in the UK.
