The SNP are pushing Scotland’s pubs to the brink.
From April, many pubs will be hit with huge increases in business rates. For some, those costs will be impossible to absorb.
John Swinney had the chance to step in at the Budget.
He chose not to.
Now pubs are facing average hikes of 86 per cent. If the SNP don’t act, more pubs will close and more jobs will be lost.
The Scottish Conservatives are calling for pubs and hospitality businesses to be exempt from business rates this year.
This would give pubs the breathing space they need to stay open.
