Gavin Brown MSP - Finance Spokesperson

Gavin Brown MSP lives locally in Edinburgh South.

He is married to Hillary, who is a primary school teacher and has two children.

Gavin is the Shadow Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism. In the Scottish Parliament, Gavin sits on the Economy Committee. He is also Convenor of the Scottish Parliament & Business Exchange and Co-Convenor of the Cross Party Group on Skills.

Since being elected in May 2007, Gavin has campaigned on a whole range of issues, including fighting for more police on the beat, lowering of business rates, a coherent drugs strategy and has advocated a zero tolerance approach to knife crime.

Prior to being elected, Gavin founded and ran a training business with a range of clients around the world. In 2004 he won an award for ‘Most Outstanding Trainer in the World'. Before that, he was a solicitor at one of Scotland's most respected legal firms.

In his spare time, Gavin takes part in Tae Kwon-Do (he holds a black belt and is a former Scottish gold medallist) and long distance running.
