Two thirds of Scots agree PM was right to use the veto

A populous poll has shown that of those who expressed an opinion, two thirds of Scots were in favour of the Prime Minister's decision to use the veto regarding the proposed EU treaty.

Scottish Conservative MP, David Mundell said:

"The use of the veto by the Prime Minister was a strong vote for the interests of the whole of the UK and will safeguard more than 150,000 vital jobs linked to the financial services in Scotland.

"These poll results show that of those people who expressed an opinion, Scots back the Prime Minister by a ratio of two to one.

"While the Prime Minister has shown the courage to stand up for Britain, Alex Salmond only seems interested in carping from the side-lines and starting another row with Westminster.

"He has nothing constructive to say on whether the SNP would adopt the Euro and he will grasp at any fig leaf to save his embarrassment that his so-called independence in Europe dream is not what it says on the tin and Scotland really is better off in Britain."
