Tricia Marwick

Speaking after the election of Tricia Marwick as Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, David McLetchie MSP, Scottish Conservative Business Manager, said:

"I warmly congratulate Tricia Marwick on her election as the first woman Presiding Officer of the Parliament. Tricia has always been well-liked and regarded as someone who has an independence of mind and judgement and who respects the viewpoint of others.

"I am sure she will bring these qualities to her new role. In Alex Fergusson she has a tough act to follow, but we on the Scottish Conservative benches wish her well."
