SVR row: SNP still have a lot to answer

Following John Swinney's appearance at Finance Committee on Tuesday afternoon and ahead of Wednesday's emergency debate on the single variable rate, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance & Sustainable Growth, Derek Brownlee MSP says:

"Today's question and answer session only raised more questions that John Swinney and the SNP still have to answer. He needs to explain when these powers were effectively lost, who gave them away, who knew about it, and when he became involved.

"We also need to know whether or not Scotland's tax varying power was already neutered when the SNP took office in 2007, but most of all he needs to give a convincing explanation as to why he and his SNP government kept the facts secret and hidden from the Finance Committee, the Scottish Parliament, and the Scottish people"
