SNP join Labour in denying challenges ahead for Scotland

The SNP Government has published "Scotland's Budget Documents 2011-12", calling for public services to be delivered with a cash freeze for the next four years.

Derek Brownlee MSP, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance & Sustainable Growth, said:

"The SNP is, for the next few months at least, still in government and has a duty to act in the national interest, not its own partisan interest.

"We have said that this budget and future budgets should do more to grow the private sector, create jobs and reform public services. There is little evidence today the SNP Government is rising to that challenge.

"Everyone knows Labour are not being honest about the challenge Scotland faces to clear up the mess of their own debt legacy. It is disappointing the SNP Government is now following suit."
