SNP is balancing books on back of local authorities

Commenting on the local government settlement contained in today's spending review, Ruth Davidson MSP, Scottish Conservative Local Government Spokesperson, said:

"Here we see John Swinney balancing his books on the back of local authorities. The £1billion reduction in the DEL Resource budget will hit councils – and council workers – hard. The SNP government is obsessed with pursuing populist give-aways like free prescriptions for those who can afford it, when they should be committed to giving taxpayers value for money from their services."
