SNP independence guide 'ludicrous'

The SNP have produced a pocket-sized guide outlining their vision of an independent Scotland. The booklet makes claims that they could cut corporation tax, raise benefits and introduce tax breaks for Scottish employers.

Scottish Conservative Finance Spokesman, Gavin Brown MSP said:

"These proposals are quite frankly ludicrous and represent flat earth economics. Anyone who has a basic understanding of mathematics will realise if you are going to give a lot of stuff away for free, it has to somehow be paid for.

"This is a huge tax giveaway and to cover it you would have to increase taxes elsewhere or cut spending. The only line that appear to be missing from this document is the one that says free milk and honey for everyone."
