Scottish Labour's gaffe-ridden campaign has gone from bad to worse after it was revealed the parent featured in Chapter 7 of their manifesto was worried about cuts by a Labour-led Council.
Jackson Carlaw, Scottish Conservative candidate for Eastwood, said:
"The parent featured on pages 82 and 83 of Scottish Labour's manifesto states that she is worried about access to music tuition for her talented daughter, who started playing the flute last year. She lives in Barrhead in East Renfrewshire.
"In fact it was Labour-led East Renfrewshire Council who proposed cuts in funding for music tuition in this year's council budget. The Conservative Group on the Council opposed the cuts and they were subsequently dropped in the face of severe public pressure.
"Labour's hypocrisy and posturing does not hide the fact that they were the ones planning the very cuts in music tuition about which they complain, and that Scottish Conservatives led the successful fight against them."
David McLetchie, Scottish Conservative Campaign Manager for the Scottish Parliament election, said:
"Labour's gaffe-ridden campaign is going from bad to worse. First their manifesto tells us that 'Scottish Labour will abolish the failed Scottish Labour' and now it rails against cuts imposed by a Labour-led Council.
"Scottish Labour's campaign is in chaos, mired in gaffes and Iain Gray's total failure to make any impact. We need common sense policies and a record of delivery, which is what you get with Annabel and the Scottish Conservatives."
