Ruth Davidson MSP, Scottish Conservative Culture Spokesperson, has called on Alex Salmond to release details of high-level meetings with the media, tabling a parliamentary question to this effect.
Ruth Davidson MSP said:
"As the UK Government has acted with transparency to outline meetings between the Prime Minister and the media, it would be helpful if the SNP Government could follow this example and do the same.
"To that end, I have asked the SNP Government if they are able to release such information so that the Scottish public are aware of all such meetings and can have full confidence in the transparency of the process in Scotland."
Below is the question Ruth Davidson MSP has tabled in the Scottish Parliament:
To ask the Scottish Executive, in light of the UK Government releasing similar information, whether it will publish details of meetings held by (a) the First Minister, (b) ministers and (c) officials with newspaper (i) proprietors, (ii) executives and (iii) editors in the last year.
