As the British Irish council got underway in Dublin Castle today, Alex Salmond told RTE that Westminster had tried to bully and intimidate Scotland.
David Cameron has offered to give the SNP the legal powers to hold a fair and decisive vote but Alex Salmond has so far rejected this.
Ruth Davidson said:
"This is another intemperate and negative outburst from the SNP. When one of Scotland's governments takes a constructive and legitimate interest in Scotland's future that is not bullying, it is doing what it is there to do - speaking up for Scotland.
"I had hoped that Alex Salmond would have learned a lesson from the insults hurled by his parliamentary aide yesterday. But it seems all Alex Salmond wants to do is to focus even more attention on the belligerent and nasty side of nationalism."
