Prisoner recalls soared by over 300% in Labour years

New figures have revealed that the number of prisoners being recalled to prison from supervision have soared over the last ten years, with Labour criticising the SNP Government for the 21% rise in the three years.

John Lamont MSP, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Justice said:

"The number of prisoners recalled to prison soared by over 300% during Labour's years in government. The relatively small increase under the SNP is disappointing but if Labour's justice spokesman thinks the latest numbers are shocking what has he got to say about his party's eight years in charge?

"The simple truth is that Labour created a soft touch Scotland and the SNP is making it even softer. Thank goodness the Scottish Conservatives have delivered a thousand extra police to make our streets safer."
