Tomorrow, Monday 18th April 2011, Scottish Conservatives will launch our Common Sense on Tax manifesto.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Annabel Goldie, Scottish Conservative Leader, said:
"Only the Scottish Conservatives can be trusted on tax.
"During the recent Scottish Budget, both Labour and the Lib Dems voted against a Council Tax freeze. They wanted everyone to pay more.
"The SNP and the Lib Dems both want a local income tax – and as we now know from the papers which Alex Salmond tried to keep secret, that new tax would punish hard working Scots the length and breadth of the land and force up a typical bill by hundreds of pound a year.
"Labour and the Lib Dems refused to back the help to small businesses secured by the Scottish Conservatives and which helped thousands survive Labour's recession.
"The Scottish Conservatives are the only party aspiring to a dynamic, entrepreneurial, low tax Scotland. The simple truth is that only one party can be trusted on tax: the Scottish Conservatives."
Ruth: "Our thoughts should now be with the families of the victims who died on that fateful day in December 1988."

Ruth: "However, this should not stop the questions that still exist, including those regarding his release by the SNP Government."
