NHS must adapt and improve service to patients

Official figures have shown that complaints against hospital treatment reached the highest point in recent history at 3,581, while complaints about NHS staff have risen by over 10% in the last decade.

Scottish Conservative Health Spokesman, Murdo Fraser MSP said:

"These statistics are deeply worrying, and show that NHS hospital treatments are failing to meet the needs of more and more patients each year. It is incredibly concerning that the number of complaints is at the highest point in recent years, and with complaints against staff also rising over the last decade, immediate action must be taken.

"It is important that NHS services take heed of these complaints and listen to patients who believe they are being let down. Only then will they be able adapt to and improve their service as so it better meets the needs of Scottish patients."
