Today in the Scottish Parliament there was a ministerial statement on the Scotland Bill, which was published yesterday.
David McLetchie MSP, Scottish Conservative Chief Whip, said:
"Polls suggest that, after nearly 4 years of an SNP Government, support for independence has slumped whilst public support for devolution and enhanced powers for this Parliament within the UK has increased. That is exactly what the Scotland Bill delivers for Scotland and I am proud that it is being taken forward by a Conservative/Lib Dem Government at Westminster with very welcome support from the Labour Party.
"The SNP talks about 'about full financial responsibility' but Ireland has full financial responsibility and it is now being bailed out by the UK Treasury as a result of pursuing the very policies which the SNP told us we should adopt here.
"The publication of the Bill marks the day on which devolution has won, so the SNP Government must now confirm that not one penny more will be spent on the so called 'National Conversation', which has died a death. It's time for the SNP Government to join the mainstream of public opinion and back this Bill."
Ruth: "Our thoughts should now be with the families of the victims who died on that fateful day in December 1988."

Ruth: "However, this should not stop the questions that still exist, including those regarding his release by the SNP Government."
