Labour’s disastrous campaign will not be saved by relaunch

Only a vote for Annabel and the Scottish Conservatives will bring balance and common sense to Holyrood

Iain Gray has tried to relaunch Labour's disastrous campaign with an attack on SNP spending plans – when in fact neither party has fully costed its proposals.

Only the Scottish Conservatives produced a comprehensive document outlining all our spending plans for the next four years.

David McLetchie, Scottish Conservative Campaign Manager for the Scottish Parliament election, said:

"People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Just like the SNP, Labour can't even produce a comprehensive analysis of their spending commitments for the next 4 years. Both parties are quite literally unbelievable.

"No relaunch can put the brakes on Labour's disastrous campaign. Just look at the facts.

"Iain Gray says he will freeze Council Tax – but repeatedly voted against a freeze.

"Iain Gray says university can be free – but his education spokesman had said a graduate contribution was 'inevitable'.

"Iain Gray says he will keep the thousand extra police delivered by the Conservatives – but promised none 4 years ago and voted against the budgets which delivered them.

"Both Labour and the SNP are living in fantasyland. Only a vote on the peach ballot paper for Annabel and the Scottish Conservatives will bring balance and common sense to the next Parliament."
