A YouGov poll published in the Scotland on Sunday has revealed a majority of Scots remain against independence with no one age group having a majority of respondents supporting independence.
Commenting on the figures, Scottish Conservative Deputy Leader, Murdo Fraser MSP said:
"This poll proves that despite all of the bluster from the SNP conference, support for independence still remains low. These figures rubbish the SNP's much vaunted idea of an 'independence generation' - with every single age group supporting the Union over separation.
"With little over a third of Scots supporting independence it is no wonder that Alex Salmond is scared of a single question referendum as he knows he will lose. Mr. Salmond needs to hold a referendum now as so we can move on from the his independence agenda and start concentrating on what Scotland needs."
Ruth: "Our thoughts should now be with the families of the victims who died on that fateful day in December 1988."

Ruth: "However, this should not stop the questions that still exist, including those regarding his release by the SNP Government."
