John Swinney has accused the Chancellor George Osborne of talking down Scotland, and discouraging businesses from investing in Scotland.
Scottish Conservative Constitution Spokesman, David McLetchie MSP said:
"The Chancellor made it absolutely clear that he has always encouraged businesses to invest in Scotland. He was simply making the very reasonable point that while the possibility of separation from the rest of the United Kingdom hangs over us, this will discourage some companies from taking major investment decisions.
"The solution to this problem lies in the hands of the SNP. They need to set a question and set a date for the referendum now so we can make up our minds one way or another and move on."
Ruth: "Our thoughts should now be with the families of the victims who died on that fateful day in December 1988."

Ruth: "However, this should not stop the questions that still exist, including those regarding his release by the SNP Government."
