At FMQs today the First Minister refused to give any solutions to Scotland's higher education finance questions, preferring instead to carp on about the action being taken south of the border.
Annabel Goldie MSP, Scottish Conservative Leader, said:
"Scottish Conservative plans would give more money to Scottish universities and greater support to students most in need. After yesterday's budget, we know the SNP will give less money to our universities and less support to students most in need.

"Scottish Conservatives have plans for the long term, plans which will put more money into the sector and will give greater support to those students most in need.
"But how long will the SNP dither and delay? How many more reviews, working groups, task forces, green papers and acres of long grass does the First Minister need before he delivers a real, lasting solution? Based on his answers today, he and the SNP still don't have a clue how to sort out the crucial issue of higher education funding."
Ruth: "Our thoughts should now be with the families of the victims who died on that fateful day in December 1988."

Ruth: "However, this should not stop the questions that still exist, including those regarding his release by the SNP Government."
