Growing obesity fears – SNP must mend its broken PE promise

Data released today shows that 1 in 10 boys is classed as obese.

Liz Smith MSP, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Education & Lifelong Learning, said:

"These alarming figures are a cause for serious concern. That is why we will continue to hound the SNP to mend its broken promise over PE in schools. They pledged 2 hours for every child, every week and it's time they delivered.

"In addition the Scottish Conservatives will continue to campaign for more extracurricular activities for more children, to take part in sport and other outdoor education. The health of the nation depends on us all, parents, schools and politicians, doing much better for our children."
