Failure of TIE and Edinburgh Council has cost us millions

An Audit Scotland Report has stated that the company constructing Edinburgh's tram line is at risk of lacking the skills and experience to finish the project.

David McLetchie MSP, Scottish Conservative Chief Whip, said:

"At the root of the delay lies the fundamental disagreement between the parties on the interpretation of the contracts.

"This is a situation which would never have arisen if TIE and the Council had mounted a more robust defence of their position. Their failure to resolve these issues has cost us millions."
