The SNP Government has restored Transport Scotland to its role in overseeing the Edinburgh trams fiasco.
Jackson Carlaw MSP, Scottish Conservative Transport Spokesperson, said:
"The SNP doesn't fool anybody. They took Transport Scotland out of its overseeing role in the first place and the consequences are there for all to see, not least the taxpayers.
"Nobody is fooled by the SNP pretence that the trams fiasco has nothing to do with them. Kenny MacAskill was its biggest fan. The SNP Government signed the cheques. They removed Transport Scotland and its expertise from the project in the first place and SNP councillors signed the contracts. For the sake of this entire project and the people of Edinburgh, we hope that it can now finally be completed."
Ruth: "Our thoughts should now be with the families of the victims who died on that fateful day in December 1988."

Ruth: "However, this should not stop the questions that still exist, including those regarding his release by the SNP Government."
