A campaign was launched today by various civic organisations in Scotland to gather views on the country's constitutional future.
This included the option of so-called devo-max, which would give Scotland further powers just short of independence.
Scottish Conservative Constitution Spokesman, David McLetchie MSP said:
"The fundamental issue for the Scottish people is between devolution and independence and anything else, whether it's another question or so-called middle way, will only muddy the waters.
"Alex Salmond was elected with a mandate for a referendum on separation only, and has no mandate for a multiple choice, pick and mix version of devolution. We should focus on the main issue which is whether we are in or out of the UK."
