Common Sense for Scotland

The Scottish Parliament has been dissolved and the starting gun has been fired for the election on May 5th.

Annabel Goldie MSP, Scottish Conservative Leader, said:

"Every voter, in every seat, in every region of Scotland should get out and vote for the party and the policies which they back.

"No Party will have an overall majority of seats in the next parliament. As we have seen since 2007, one party might be in government, but not in power.

"That is why voters should judge each party by what they have delivered over the last 4 years.

"I am proud of what 16 Scottish Conservative MSPs have delivered for Scotland.

"Without us, there would not have been 1,000 extra police. The SNP would only have delivered 500, and Labour would have delivered none.

"Without us, there would not have been a Council Tax freeze. Labour and the LibDems voted against it.

"Without us, business rate cuts for thousands of small firms would have been delayed, to implement, there would not have been a multi-million pound town centre regeneration fund and a host of other measures for Scotland would never have happened.

"The Scottish Conservatives have stood up for Scotland. The Scottish Conservatives have delivered common sense for Scotland.

"Over the next 6 weeks, we will tell it like it is. We will be optimistic about tomorrow, but realistic about today. We will not duck the tough decisions. Our sums add up.

"My challenge to the other parties is to match those pledges and that honesty."
