Scottish Conservative policies will support small business and the voluntary sector, to help grow Scotland's economy.
Speaking from Haddington today, Derek Brownlee, Scottish Conservative Finance Spokesperson, said,
"Scottish Conservatives are committed to growing Scotland's economy and tackling the effects of Labour's debt legacy.
"In the recent budget we secured a £10m package for small business, which will create 5,000 jobs across Scotland. But we can do more.
"Our aim is for 25% of local and national government contracts to be awarded to small and medium sized enterprises, which will help create the jobs of the future.
"Scotland's voluntary sector deserves more opportunity as well. Many of them have strong local roots and specialist knowledge and may be better placed to deliver services than the public sector ever could be. We will therefore consult on introducing a 'right to bid' for the voluntary sector.
"The jobs of the future will come from outwith the public sector. We need common sense measures that will support our private and voluntary sectors, which is exactly what we are offering. Every voter in every seat in every region of Scotland can vote for these common sense policies on May 5th."
