The Transport Secretary Phillip Hammond MP has announced that he will be in conversation with the Scottish Government regarding the proposed high-speed rail link.
Shadow Transport Minister, Jackson Carlaw MSP said:
"I welcome Phillip Hammond's decision to consult closely with the Scottish Government regarding the high-speed rail link.
"Although the line will take years to complete, it is only right that the Scottish Parliament is kept abreast of developments from the earliest possible stage. I also commend the Coalition Government for making this project a reality and carrying our transport infrastructure into the 21st Century."
