Budget report: Only the Scottish Conservatives can deliver Council Tax freeze

The Finance Committee has today published its report on the Draft Budget 2011/12.

Derek Brownlee MSP, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance & Sustainable Growth, said:

"Regardless of the fate of this government and this budget, the report shows that only the Scottish Conservatives can ensure the Council Tax freeze continues and only the Scottish Conservatives can prevent tax rises on business by Labour or the SNP.

"We have already delivered lower taxes, more police, a Town Centre Regeneration Fund, transparency in government spending and a Council Tax freeze for the past three years. Scottish Conservatives have a track record of delivering for Scotland. Our approach to this budget will be determined by whether the final package delivers for Scotland as well."
