Commenting on the conclusion of the Gourock-Dunoon ferry tender, Jackson Carlaw MSP, Scottish Conservative Transport Spokesperson, said:
"I welcome the fact that the new tender, after years of delay and inaction, has finally been confirmed. However, the cynic in me questions the motives of the SNP in choosing to wait until immediately after the election to make this inevitable announcement."
Jamie McGrigor, Scottish Conservative MSP for Highlands & Islands, added:
"I am already receiving emails from outraged constituents who trusted the SNP's promises of two new vehicle ferries on the route. The people of Dunoon and Cowal have been badly let down and this is a rotten start for the SNP government and the new MSP for Argyll & Bute."
