Audit Scotland has published a highly critical review of Community Health Partnerships (CHPs).
Murdo Fraser MSP, Scottish Conservative Health Spokesperson, said:
"This is a very worrying report which confirms the management and governance of CHPs is extremely poor. They have no idea how many staff work for them or how much they spend on administration costs. It is just not good enough.
"It is clear we need to improve the management and efficiency of CHPs. They must be led by medical professionals who are focussed on achieving the best outcomes for patients, rather than the current top-down bureaucracy which is clearly not working.
"Based on the findings of this report, we support calls for the Scottish Government to conduct a complete review of the structure and function of CHPs, as soon as possible."
