Speaking after FMQs today, Annabel Goldie MSP, Scottish Conservative Leader, said:
"Last week I asked the First Minister what would be his personal preference for a separate Scotland's currency: the British Pound or the Euro. Twice he ducked it, twice he wouldn't tell us - no doubt out of embarrassment - what his personal preference is.
"The First Minister is not answering the question because he is squirming with embarrassment to admit his personal preference. What a contrast with his SNP MEP colleague Alyn Smith, who was asked the very same question on Radio Scotland this morning about whether he believed that a separate Scotland should join the Euro, and voiced his favour of such a move.
"An SNP MEP has come clean. Why can't the First Minister come clean? Why won't he utter the words? We all know that Alex Salmond equals the Euro."
