"Virtue is attained in proportion as liberty is attained: for virtue does not consist in doing right, but in choosing to do right." - Lord Hugh Cecil at Edinburgh University in 1909.
Founded in 1862, EUCUA is one of the oldest university associations in the United Kingdom. We boast a distinguished alumni of Sir Malcolm Rifkind, Michael Ancram, Charles Hendry, David McLetchie and Lord James Douglas-Hamilton, and have an ever-increasing membership from the University and beyond.
This year EUCUA has an extensive line-up of political dinners and lunches which is posted on the website (www.eucua.co.uk) and will campaign actively at both local and national elections.
This year the Association's Chairman will be Richard Mabey with Harry Cole as Treasurer and Vice-Chairman. There will be a busy line-up with social events including a dinner in October to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of The Act of Union at The New Club, and our annual Burns Supper in the magnificant Playfair Library.
