Being a Young (ish) Conservative in West Dunbartonshire

In an age where politics is held in disregard and politicians are regarded as being the lowest form of pond life, you would be perfectly justified in asking "why get involved in a political party?"

Young people today are turned off political parties, but they are not turned off issues. You only have to look back to the summer of 2005, with all the publicity surrounding the "Live 8" concert and the 3rd world debt relief rallies to see that young people do care, they just don't see structured political parties as a vehicle to achieve what they want. We disagree. By getting involved in the policy making process within political parties, you can make your voice heard.

In West Dunbartonshire we have a really active and enthusiastic group of Young Conservatives. While our primary task is to work for the election of Conservatives to local and national government, it is by no means all leafleting and canvassing. With an increasing membership across Scotland, Scottish Conservative Future members meet regularly and socialise together. In the West of Scotland, particularly with a rejuvenated branch at Glasgow University, there are plenty opportunities to get involved?

If you believe in the Conservative principles of freedom and opportunity for all, why not get involved.
