The Conservatives have the largest youth wing of any political party nationally, and Conservative Future Edinburgh plans to extend this domination to the Scottish capital. With Edinburgh boasting such a natural base of good Conservative support, it’s a wonder that a city wide CF group had not been set up earlier. But coming just a few months after David Cameron was elected leader, CF Edinburgh hoasted its launch party with more than 50 other young Tories living or working in Edinburgh.
One of the newest CF groups in Scotland, CFE brings together the existing student groups as well all young supporters or members involved with their constituency associations. As long as you’re under 30 and right of centre, you’re in! Since setting up we have continued to offer an exciting progamme from barbecues, drinks, meetings with MSPs, paintballing, dinners, charity fundraising and much more.
These are most certainly exciting times to be a Conservative. The leadership of David Cameron has taken us ahead in the polls for the first time since any under 30s were still in school! The Conservative Party is demonstrating that it is the natural challenger to Labour’s decade of misrule and disappointment. We are fast getting the youth vote back, and creating a rightful sense of optimism in the political arena.
If you are interested in having some good fun in Edinburgh, or would like to find out more about us, you can visit our website or e-mail us. We look forward to hearing from you.
