Cllr Cameron Rose

Cameron Rose is a resident in the Southside & Newington Ward who joined the Conservative party in 2005. His family have been raised in the ward area and he has experienced and contributed to Council services in Edinburgh for 30 years
Married with five children, he is 53. A retired police inspector, he works part time as a project manager in a local church . He is a regular cyclist, he also keeps himself fit jogging and hill walking. His particular interests are history, international affairs, theology and people. He is Finance spokesman for the Conservative Group on the Council and also sits on Pensions and Planning committees.
He loves living in Edinburgh – the natural beauty, the architecture, the heritage and the people, both visitors and residents. He is less enamoured with public waste, crime, injustice, high tax and unfulfilled potential.
He believes in traditionally Scottish values;
- a strong sense of duty and responsibility,
- the importance of principles and beliefs
- a highly developed work ethic
- the family unit as the building block for a strong society
Cameron says, "We need to value what is good in Edinburgh – and there is plenty. We also need to tackle with resolution, responsibility, initiative and freedom those things which prevent us meeting change and challenge."
