Cllr Graham Nicol is Conservative Councillor for the Mid Galloway ward (covering Newton Stewart and much of Wigtownshire).
He was born and brought up in Gatehouse of Fleet, and is married with five grown up children. He was educated at Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbright Academy and West of Scotland Agricultural College. After farming until 1991, he developed a passionate interest in small businesses - being active in local business associations and trage groups. He still owns a landscape gardening business, as well as running a busy diary as councillor for Mid Galloway.
Graham is Chairman of the Wigtownshire Area Committee, and vice Chairman of the Planning, Housing and Environment Committee. He is Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group of councillors.
