The UK Government has unveiled an enhanced Scotland Bill with plans to give the Scottish Parliament more financial powers.
David McLetchie MSP, Scottish Conservative Constitution Spokesperson, said: "The UK Government is to be commended on taking on board many of the constructive proposals outlined in the Reports of the two parliamentary committees which have looked at the Bill.
"They fall short of the Salmond demands but that is no bad thing since his proposals are clearly incompatible with the maintenance of the United Kingdom and are damaging to Scottish interests and the funding of public services.
"We want to strengthen the Union – the SNP want to destroy it. That is the basic difference against which these changes should be judged."
