Biography – Wendy Agnew, council candidate for Stonehaven & Lower Deeside

 

Wendy AgnewWendy Agnew was born in the former Mowatt Nursing Home, Stonehaven an spent her childhood in the Old Town, where she attended Dunnottar Primary School before going to Mackie Academy, she completed her education at a private college.

Mrs Agnew first worked in the office of the former Net Manufacturers, John Stewart at Low Wood Road. She subsequently was employed by the Hydro Electric Board, the NFU Scotland office in Stonehaven and currently manages the office of Agnew Insurance Services in Stonehaven.

She is qualified in equestrian teaching and training, was a founding member of Kincardine County Riding Club, former District Representative of the British Horse Society and Chief Instructor of a Branch of the pony club. She is a life long member of the International League for the protection of horses. She also served for fourteen years as Assistant Secretary and Treasurer of Fettercairn Farmers Club.

Mrs Agnew has always had an active interest in health matters and trained as a Patient Advocate with Grampian Health Board. She was instrumental in starting the campaign for the retention of Arduthie Hospital which resulted in the provision of the new community hospital being built on that site.

Mrs Agnew has spent her working life dealing with people and feels that there can be few better ways to continue to serve the interests of the residents of Stonehaven than by seeking the privilege of service their interests in Local Government.

Biography – Sandy Wallace, council candidate for Stonehaven & Lower Deeside

 

Sandy WallaceSandy Wallace is married with two school age daughters. He works for an alcohol rehab charity and has 15 years of experience dealing with a huge range of social problems including social work, health, housing and crime. He set up an activity group to divert problem drinkers towards a healthy lifestyle as a result of which he now is now in training to run the New York marathon.

He has been a councillor for the last seven years, firstly as the Conservative Housing and Social work spokesman but now as Education Spokesman. In addition he serves on the Police Board, Planning Committee and on the boards of numerous charitable bodies, school boards and community councils.

He basically has no spare time but cooks and does housework to relax, after which he watches Star Trek videos with his daughters.
