Biography – Moira Ingleby, council candidate for Huntly, Strahbogie & Howe of Alford

Moira InglebyCllr Moira Ingleby has been selected by local Conservatives to contest the new ward of Huntly, Strathbogie & Howe of Alford at the elections to Aberdeenshire Council to be held on Thursday 3 May.

Commenting on her selection, Moira said: "I am delighted to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for the new ward of Huntly, Strathbogie & Howe of Alford.  Since being elected 18 Months ago to represent Huntly East, I have worked hard on behalf of the residents that I represent and I welcome the opportunity to continue my work for them.  Over the coming months, I very much look forward to meeting many new faces in the larger Ward. I know the multi member wards are going to be a challenge for Councillors and the public alike but I welcome that challenge."

Moira Ingleby has outlined some of her key campaign themes which she will be discussing with residents over the coming months before the May poll. These include concerns about levels of council tax and the effect these have on pensioners and those on low incomes. Moira is also keen to ensure rural schools are protected and that there are facilities available in the community to keep young people active and involved.

Coming from a farming background, Moira has taken a great interest in the local farming scene. Moira was delighted to attend the opening of the Huntly Mart extension and will do all she can to provide a voice for all those who live and work in the rural areas of Aberdeenshire such as Huntly, Strathbogie & the Howe of Alford.
